Annual spring floods and glacier run-off have created extensive warm wetlands in the valley bottom. These wetlands are bounded by the slides, meadows, forests and the glaciers of the surrounding peaks.
This unique system of recharged wetlands, surrounded by later season willow meadows and slides in the higher altitudes constitute some of the finest moose and bear habitat of North America.
All but the first twenty kilometres of this river is inaccessible by road or trail. Klinaklini Outfit has exclusive guiding rights within 1800 square miles of this drainage.
